.416 Rem Mag
Though I haven't been able to track down the maker of the gun, the work is all exceptionally well done.
Custom quarter rib, fit with an NECG adjustable sight, NECG Masterpiece banded front sight that's been Magna ported, custom scope bases fit for the Leupold QD rings. Many refinements were made to the pre-war Winchester Model 70, including the build up and checkered bolt release, checkered bolt handle, blackburn bottom metal, and Timney trigger.
The stock was crafted out of a dense piece of English walnut in an American classic style.
There's a small crack behind the tang that's been repaired, as well as a "Dutchman" repair where a Lyman-style sight was used on the side. Whoever did the work matched the grain so well, I couldn't get the repair to show up in the photos.
The rifle hasn't been a safe queen. It ahs quite a few minor marks in the stock and a few blemishes in the metal.
Feeds and fuctions perfectly. Ready for Africa!
