.416 Rem Mag Pre 64 Winchester Model 70
One of a kind .416 Rem Mag!
The barrel was machined by Morris Melani out of a 1.75" Krieger blank. Full length octagon with an integral quarter rib, sling swivel, and front sight ramp. The custom sight hood features beautiful knurling and two gold bands. The Pre-64 Model 70 action has been thoroughly gone through for feed and function. Perfectly polished inside and out.
An exceptionally well done checked bolt handle was added by Stan McFarland. He also flawlessly executed the wrap-around checkering pattern on the stock.
The stock features a trap door butt plate, trap door grip cap, steel cross bolts, custom inletted rear sling swivel, and buffalo horn foreend tip.
The Blackburn bottom metal, Alaska Arms rings, bolt sleeve, grip cap, and sling swivel were all color case-hardened by Doug Turnbull. There's a few handling marks on the stock, otherwise the rifle is in excellent condition. The color case looks like it was done yesterday.
